I always find myself wearing black. I love it. Everything works with it, it looks great on everyone, it’s chic, and can be helpful to disguise the parts of me that I blame  reeses peanut butter cups for.

With all that said I can’t get enough of bright colors this summer. It’s everywhere, and I’m loving mixing complimentary colors, pairing tones together, and my all time favorite, color pops.

Neons and brights aren’t just in clothing, but also in shoes, jewelry and bags. It’s a simple way of looking like you put effort into your outfit without looking like you tried.

Go through your closet and find your favorite pair of skinny jeans,  a neutral colored tank and then shock it with a bold colorful necklace, layered bracelets, or a great pair of shoes that are a statement color. Starting small with your accessories is the easiest way to go, you can then layer colors (not the way I did in the early 90”s with 2 pairs of neon socks, remember that?!) and like all things, with practice and experience you will learn, like me, that black is not the only thing you need in your closet.

My family and I got to hang out with Devon today and I was obsessed with her new Michael Kors bag she got for her birthday. The bright tangerine color looked amazing against her gray and white maxi skirt she purchased at “Dear Hannah” on 5th and Washington, and she was sweet enough to pose for a pic.

I decided to bring in neon green to my day and then stacked some of my favorite Stella and Dot bracelets and necklace my good friend Erin Moharita has introduced me to!

It’s a great opportunity to add some color to your wardrobe with all the gorgeous pieces in the summer collection, and lots of promotions and chances to win credits for free jewelry make it even more fun to shop! Erin has generously teamed up with me to give the neon pink wanderlust bracelet to one of my followers. Just leave me a comment, whether it be a fashion question, a pic of your favorite accessory, or let me know if there’s something you’re looking for you might need help finding,  I will pick a winner and announce them in next week’s post. Happy shopping and good luck!!
