Out with the root vegetables of winter time and onto the sweet fruits of spring! Berries like Strawberries and Blackberries are currently in abundance at our local grocery stores. Not only is this beautiful fruit wonderfully delicious but they are also incredibly healthy for us! Berries are PACKED with antioxidants which offer protection against conditions such as heart disease and cancer and can even promote weight loss!

1 Cup Filtered Water or Coconut Water
1 Cup Strawberries
1 Cup Blackberries
2 Tbls Almond Butter
1tbls Cacao Powder or High quality cocoa
1tbls Agave Nectar or Honey to sweeten
Blend with Ice and you have an excellent glass of pre-workout fuel!

Tip: If you are buying berries in bulk, de-stem a majority of them, throw them in an air tight container and throw them in the freezer! Frozen strawberries are perfect in a smoothie!
