On April 27th, we hosted our first ever charity ride, lead by yours truly. The charity event was to support Autism Awareness and the preK Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program at Wallace Elementary School here in town.
I took the class through the journey of Alexander’s struggle with Autism and also celebrated his successes and where he is today. This story was narrated through music and each song told a piece of his story. It was moving, inspirational and of course, an amazing work out!
Overall, the event was a great success. Both classes were packed, everyone mixed and mingled, the kids had a ball and most importantly we raised over $2,000! We thank each and every single person who took time out of their day to ride, those who stopped by to show their love, and of course those of you who donated toward this cause that is so dear to my heart. Your support, your love, means so much to me, my son and his PreK ABA class. Thank you for letting me share my story, and the story of many parents faced with challenges in raising and helping a child with special needs.
Another BIG thank you to our local friends for donating food, beverages and decorations. Thank you: Big Fun Toys, Mat & Meera, Napoli’s Pizzeria and Delite Market! Thank you to the Stehli family for the beautiful flowers as well!
