Brand new to the WiO Team, instructor Stephanie gives us a healthy taste of her daily life from the fitness world to corporate world. Read on for Stephanie's "hectic yet healthy" 24 hours... 6:30am - 8:00am - The Spandex Life:  Good morning! I start the day with a quick scan of my phone to wake myself up, eat a few bites of banana and peanut butter, and then throw on my workout clothes (this all usually happens in the dark while my boyfriend sleeps deeply). I head out to either teach a class at WiO or do a workout of my own. I love going for long runs along the waterfront, taking a cross fit or barre class, or doing yoga at home. To make sure I stay injury-free, I'm always looking for new low-impact workouts to balance out my running. This is what originally led me to spinning!

8:10am - 8:45am - The Mad Dash:  On days when I need to go into the office, this is probably the most stressful part of my day. I shower, get dressed, pack my lunch (usually leftovers from the night before) and head out to the PATH on my bike. Biking is my favorite way to get around town and definitely saves me time in the mornings! During my commute, I usually write a big to-do list for the day while blasting my upcoming ride class playlist.

9:15am - 5:30pm - Corporate Life:  Once I get to my job at the American Express office I pick up some steal cut oatmeal from the cafeteria, make a cup of tea, and head to my desk for a busy day. I’m not usually a coffee person, but I love a good cup of tea (Early Grey, Puerh, Oolong, Chai, you name it). My work days are usually filled with meetings and conference calls (I work in marketing for Small Business Card Members), but I try to make time for a quick lunch break and a few walks around the office to keep my legs moving. I hate sitting for long periods of time!! When I work from home I do quite a bit of pacing around my apartment during calls. Once I wrap up my meetings and get my emails under control it’s time to head back to Hoboken, along with the herd of other Hoboken commuters!

6:00pm - 8:00pm - Post-Work Life:  I always try to squeeze in a few errands after work, which often involves grabbing last-minute groceries for dinner that night. My boyfriend and I cook most nights of the week and we LOVE to eat! This part of my day usually revolves around food. I love trying new recipes (only quick and easy ones) and blogging about them if they were a success! My go-to dinners are stir-fry, quiche, or a big pile of roasted veggies with grains and protein. Having grown up in Europe to a family of foodies, I learned to always make time to disconnect during dinner and of course always leave room for dessert! For me, that usually means having a big piece of dark chocolate.

8:00pm - 9:30pm  - Unwind:  Post-dinner can also be busy! I might be typing up my next blog post for the week (I run a health and wellness blog called Hectic & Healthy), designing my next spin class, checking work emails, or thinking about my plans for the weekend. I love to get outdoors on the weekend and recently completed the challenging task (it was for me at least) of a 4-day hike finishing on the Summit of Mt. Washington (photo above). Those trips require a lot of planning! By the end of the night, I relax with a good book or TV show (currently watching The Sopranos!). The night usually ends early for me because I need at least 8 hours of sleep to function the next day. I likely didn’t get everything done on my to-do list that day, but the rest can wait…
